Welcome to Shady Grove Ranch!

To begin with: Nothing you see here is real.  Well, the models are real, but they're not real horses.  If you're looking for information on real horses, I'm afraid you're out of luck.

I have been a model horse collector since 1981 and have been showing off and on since 1989.  My focus is primarily on original finish plastic models; I have literally a scant handful of customs.  My collection is probably--I haven't had the nerve to count lately--around 600 horses, and I have offshoot collections of cattle, wildlife, and pets.  I'm a member of the International Pedigree Assignment and Bloodline Research Association (IPABRA) [for model horses].

I'm interested in a lot of different breeds but stock horses and mustangs are particular favorites.  What can I say?  I grew up in Colorado and Texas.

The horses on our banner are our mustang Mancha de Tinta and her filly Chickadee, both of whom are Hagen-Renaker china miniatures.
